Some horror movies belong to Halloween. Night of the Demons (1988) practically moves in, decorates the place, and refuses to leave after midnight.
Angela is throwing a Halloween party at Hull House, an abandoned funeral parlor surrounded by an underground wall and enough bad history to make any sensible teenager stay home. Unfortunately, sensible teenagers would make for a very short horror movie.
Once the group holds a séance, the party takes a sharp turn from cheap thrills to full demonic possession. Before long, the doors are locked, Angela is no longer acting like herself, and everyone discovers that Hull House has a strict no-refunds policy.
This was the kind of movie that seemed permanently at home on the lower shelves of every good video store. The demonic face on the cover, the Halloween setting, and the promise of something forbidden made it a natural sleepover rental.
